تابستان گذشته لیورپول شانس جذب توریرا و جورجینیو را داشته ولی فابینیو را انتخاب کرده است
Liverpool rejected the chance to sign current Arsenal and Chelsea stars Lucas Torreira and Jorginho to prioritise a deal for Fabinho, according to reports.
Brazilian midfielder Fabinho spent three productive years at Monaco and won a Ligue 1 title before completing a £39million move to Anfield last summer.
The 25-year-old took time to adapt to
Premier League football but improved as the season went on and helped Liverpool win the Champions League and finish second in the Premier League.
Fabinho has largely impressed this season, starting three of Liverpool’s four matches, with his side enjoying a perfect start to the new campaign to climb to the top of the table.
Liverpool initially expressed interest in signing Fabinho in 2013 when the then-teenager was on loan at Real Madrid Castilla.
Scouts from Anfield were then impressed by Fabinho during Monaco’s title-winning season in 2016-17, with Jurgen Klopp informed he would be an ideal addition, both on and off the field.
According to The Athletic , Liverpool were also keeping tabs on Torreira and Jorginho at the time but Fabinho’s physical presence meant he emerged as the Reds’ primary target.
Uruguay international Torreira was playing for Italian side Sampdoria at the time and made a £26.4m move to Arsenal last summer.
Jorginho also joined the Premier League around this time last year, leaving Napoli to join Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea.
Liverpool proved too strong for Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday, beating Unai Emery’s side 3-1 thanks to a Mohamed Salah brace and a Joel Matip header.
Speaking after the win, Klopp said: ‘It was a performance full of power, energy, greed and passion, which I think you need against a team like Arsenal.
‘The last 10 minutes I saw the possession – 53 to 47% or something like that – but over 80 minutes it must have been completely different. We were completely in charge of the game.’
