Speaking to MUTV ahead of kick-off, van Gaal revealed the extra staff member who has helped to prepare the team for this afternoon's game in Northern Ireland.

"We helped the players to recover," he said. "We have a fatigue recovery specialist and he is with the squad today for the first time because recovery now is very important. He is a specialist. We have used him, the players have used and I hope it is enough."
