The management of Al-Nasr club began to formally move against Persepolis by filing a complaint with the Asian Football Confederation, protesting the ineligibility of some players on the Iranian club’s list.
Al-Nassr lost to Persepolis, on Saturday evening, with a 3-5 penalty shootout, after the original and extra time of the match that brought them together ended in a 1-1 positive draw, in the semi-finals of the 2020 AFC Champions League.
The Al-Nasr club mission, present in the Qatari capital, Doha, to compete in the AFC Champions League, submitted an official complaint to the AFC against Persepolis.
Al-Nasr management met quickly after losing the match, studied all the data, and decided to file a protest note due to the ineligibility of some of the players on the Persepolis list.
FIFA had punished Persepolis by preventing it from concluding any new deal, due to the crisis of late financial dues for players who had previously played within its ranks and lodged complaints against him, but the Iranian club had registered new players days before the Asian championship.
